Hula Girl Amigurumi
After a very very long break from posting, today I bring you hula girl amigurumi! Very fitting for the summer season right? How is everyone doing trying to beat this heat?
Recently I’ve picked up crocheting once again and managed to crunch out a ton of different girl doll amigurumis. This time I made a hula girl amigurumi. My inspiration for this came from a recent trip I took with my family to Hawaii. It was so hot over there…I’m glad that I live here in California though!
Instead of using shells to decorate her, I just used some very cheap and easy to find foam stickers from my local craft store. It was very easy to do and produced the look I was aiming for as well. Here’s the head piece up close..
The funnest part about making this hula girl amigurumi was probably the headdress. It really adds the signature Hawaiian/tropical feel to it. It brings me back to the fun times I had there too!
If any of you plan to go to Hawaii, you should really shop at this place called ABC Mart. I literally spent hours there just looking through all their souvenirs! Seriously, it’s THAT entertaining to look at. I ended up buying a load of small things from this place and got a free mug for spending a certain amount of money there. Can’t say that I use that cup myself though, especially since my daughter scrambles to get her hands on it everyday to drink ice water from it. It’s just a cup!
Stay tuned for the rest of my amigurumi doll creations if you’re interested! I’ll be posting more over the next couple of weeks. I also have some animal amigurumis to post too! Thanks for looking at my hula girl amigurumi!
